Unicorns, dragons, princesses and knights! Time to Imagine Your Story in the Libbie Cass Library Summer Reading Program.
This summer the fun will come to you. For kids ages 3-7 years, we’ll have rotating kits with Take & Make activities, crafts, and coloring pages. You might read about Little Red Riding Hood and then make a chlorophyll painting. You might read about dragons and knights and make your own dragon egg. Or, you might read about Goldilocks and the Three Dinosaurs and excavate a dinosaur from an ice egg.
For kids in 1st grade-5th grade we’ll be exploring Greek Mythology. You’ll receive a complimentary copy of Get to Work, Hercules by Kate McCullan, where Hades sets the record straight on the true story of Hercules. When you register for summer reading, you’ll receive the book and a kit filled with activities and supplies to do at home by yourself, with friends, or with family.
I would appreciate registration if your family plans on taking advantage of this great opportunity to encourage reading over the summer and have fun with the activities. I want to make sure I have enough supplies for everyone who's interested. The kits should be ready to go out in July!
